Molson Coors UK has issued a product recall for a limited number of its Home Draught units after a consumer complained of a ruptured pack.

Molson Coors launched the 10-pint unit for Carling, Grolsch and Coors Light in May in a bid to reinvigorate the market for beer consumed at home.

However, the firm has announced a limited recall for a number of batches of the Home Draft as a precaution following an "isolated consumer complaint".

"Rigorous testing demonstrates that the ruptured pack was the result of a combination of factors that were unlikely to replicated," Molson Coors said in a statement.

According to the Food Standards Agency, the reason for the recall is the "small chance of the beer bottle in the unit breaking when the carbon dioxide cartridge is activated".

Molson Coors said the recall affected fewer than 10% of the stock produced to date and retailers held the vast majority of the affected batches in depot.

"Molson Coors will not take risks with consumer safety and any potential for a recurrent event, which remains unlikely, makes this a prudent and responsible course of action to take," the firm said.

The affected batches are listed below. All other batches in the UK, as well as US and Republic of Ireland stocks are not affected and "remain perfectly safe".
